Ahead of the release of our Record Store Day 10″ in association with Music Finland, we’re thrilled to share the latest video from Finnish five-piece NEØV.
-Directed by Appu Jasu from The New Tigers (who also features on our 10″), the video features rare footage from the band’s hometown Kuopio from the first half of the last century which perfectly suits the dreamy nostalgic tone of the song, “Laketown.”
Speaking about the track and the video, vocalist and guitarist Anssi Neuvonen said:
“Laketown is inspired by the horizon. It’s vantage point music about living in the farthest corner of the world. Behind the song is an image, where the morricone-esque skyline meets the bright present moment. So, when it comes to Appu’s video, mixing historical film material and fresh band footage is a natural continuum. Both the song and Appu’s video show honestly what inspires us, who are we, where in the world are we from – especially the video is such a sincere glance in our childhood’s magic world, where the dream of a band was inevitably surrounded by the unconscious influence of the nature, not the least of the lakes.”
NEØV will be playing The Great Escape in Brighton this May.
