Watch: Thomas Azier – 'Angelene' (Best Fit Premiere)

The music of Netherlands-born and Berlin-based Thomas Azier manages to credibly reference some of the eighties music we love the most: early Depeche Mode, Confusion-era New Order, even a vocal that calls to mind the likes of A-Ha and Visage.

There’s something more though – hints of a framework that also draws in the contemporary and lifts it above the usual European approach to electro. ‘Angelene ‘ flows with a graceful, sensitive vocal that dominates against 80s-tinged soundscapes. Check out the incredible new video above.
