Girls, the newly released video from Danish upstart Nick Erikson, aka Taragana Pyjamara, is a story of two seasons – Winter and Summer – both equally, though differently, filled with the same mixture of quiet and life as the song itself.
Taken from the upcoming eponymous debut EP for French label Fool House, Taragana Pyjamara’s Girls already garnered an amount of blog-love when it was released last year.
Drenched in woozy half-remembered sunlight, the video highlights the beauty of the fuzzy laid-back pop, whilst capturing the sense of energy from the techno beat perfectly with the camera diving into the cool waves. Also there’s a deer.
Girls is like dozing on a beach remembering last night’s party.
Listen below for Ocean, also from the EP, which is more upbeat and organic in sound but also feels tinged with nostalgia. Ethereal voices emerge out of the mix, which itself pulses and throbs like the ocean of the tracks title.
It seems only natural that dream disco counterparts Teengirl Fantasy have done their own remix of Ocean. Listen to their more deconstructed version, which gives more prominence to vocals and synthetic sounds, highlighting the dancier aspects of the song.
