Connan Mockasin – Faking Jazz Together [Best Fit Premiere]
Since the apparition of Connan Mockasin’s debut album Forever Dolphin Love early last year, we here at The Line of Best Fit have been intrigued, inspired and enamoured with the London based New Zealander. Every act is adorned by Mockasin’s unique and magical imagination, be that when he’s performing the album’s title track for a Best Fit Session, or playing alongside French chanteuse Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Connan Mockasin returns today with this bewitching video for album highlight ‘Faking Jazz Together’. The release of the video also coincides with a re-pressing of the critically acclaimed album, released by Because Music and Phantasy Sounds in March 2011, and which also featured in Best Fit’s selection of 2011′s finest records. Set to be released as a limited run of purple vinyl, reworkings of the record’s tracks – including the hugely popular Erol Alkan remix of ‘Forever Dolphin Love’ – will feature on the limited edition pressing, as will a Balearic “Acid Mix” of ‘Unicorn In Uniform’ by Coyote.
‘Faking Jazz Together’ is available via this link, and the album Forever Dolphin Love can be purchased here.
