Charlotte Church – How Not To Be Surprised When You're a Ghost
We went to see Charlotte Church in Brighton last night to witness her transformation from teen-opera star cum tabloid gutter press fodder to ‘credible indie starlet’. She continues her plight to convince us of her intentions with a bat shit crazy video for new single ‘How Not To Be Surprised When You’re A Ghost’. Something that Nicole Kidman could have learned from in her role as ‘a ghost’ in The Others.
Featuring a host of characters you’re likely to meet after taking some particularly strong acid, the clip sees Charl aiming for Kate Bush territory whilst her supporting cast resemble characters that could only be found hidden within the depths of Noel Fielding’s inhumanly large head. ie:
Whether tongue in cheek or a genuine attempt to be taken seriously, it really doesn’t matter. Churchy continues to do whatever it is that she does with an absolute bloody mindedness and – if Mr Cabbage Head above is anything to go by – a sense of humour. And we like that.
