Will Dutta performs China Gates for Best Fit
Pianist and composer Will Dutta bridges the space between modern classical and dance. He made a name for himself as the fonder of the Blank Canvas night, which began in 2007 as a way to showcase innovative contemporary classical, electronic and experimental music at venues across the UK capital.
Dutta studied piano performance at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and as the Creative Director of Chimera Productions was the mastermind behind Gabriel Prokofiev’s Concerto for Turntables & Orchestra.
We met Will in the magnificent surroundings of Steinway Hall where he performed ‘China Gates’, a piece composed by American minimalist John Adams in the late seventies which Adams described as an “almost perfect palindrome”.
