Watch: I Ching – It's Me (Best Fit Session)
Every now and again a few bright upstarts in a band come along and win your hearts. In our case, this happened with I Ching last summer; the London duo, who now flesh out to make a four-piece live, were introduced to us with ‘Drive’, a track so richly textured and bursting with ideas that we ran (or whatever the verb is for “hurried to write many emails”) to book them for a few shows our very selves.
Our collective (but ever professional) infatuation didn’t stop there, however. Their debut 7″ offering ‘It’s Me’ comes out exactly a week today on our sparklingly new label Best Fit Recordings, with the track that spellbound us in the first instance taking it’s place as the flip side. While you wait for that pre-ordered vinyl to be wedged through your mailbox next Monday, you can keep yourselves entertained this morning by watching the single performed live in a special session we recorded with the band recently. The song’s bittersweet lyrics of longing are perfectly encapsulated, while that melancholic-but-melodically huge chorus bursts into a realm of its own.
‘It’s Me’ will be released 23 April on Best Fit Recordings.
Thanks to Deadphone Audio for sound recording and Rowans for location use.
