The Lion’s Roar is the second record from First Aid Kit and trades their more folksome leanings of their debut for a confident take on 21st Century Americana. Of course, it’s to the girls’ credit that they can take such a foreign sound, mesh it through their own lilting Scandinavian filter and still make it sound amazing.
We spent some time with siblings Johanna and Klara back in December, before they hit the stage for a breathtaking show at Bush Hall in West London. They gave us the bitter-sweet ‘Blue’, one of the stand-outs from The Lion’s Roar.
