Watch: Charlotte Gainsbourg feat Connan Mockasin – Anna (Best Fit Session)
Charlotte Gainsbourg’s credentials need little explanation.
As the daughter of a legend, her musical career was kickstarted at the age of 12 by a collaboration with her father Serge. Her first album followed shortly after but it was two decades before another: 2006′s 5.55 saw the singer-songwriter and actress collaborate with the likes of Neil Hannon, Air and Jarvis Cocker. For album number three, IRM, she paired up exclusively with the (then) ubiquitous Beck.
Stage Whisper, which dropped at the end of last year, sees some of her most interesting collaborations yet – among them, Best Fit favourite and star of one of our earlier sessions, Connan Mockasin. Fittingly, Charlotte brought Connan along with her for her very own Best Fit Session – which is also our 100th. What better way to celebrate?!
