Watch Warpaint perform “Love Is To Die” for Best Fit
The welcome news of a Warpaint record – three years since their debut long-player – marks the return of one of this decade’s most exciting guitar bands.
The LA-based quartet’s hypnotic jam-rock has always been notable by its overt musicality, lulling beats and expansive melodies – and they remain head-and-shoulders above their contemporaries as a live unit too. What we’ve heard so far of their second album hints at a record rich with development and an intricate self-awareness of their unique songwriting talents.
We met up with the band last month to capture a very special session performance of the track that announced their return – “Love is to Die”. With Warpaint firing on all cylinders, it’s one of the smoothest, sensual, peak-heavy cuts we’ve ever filmed; watch it above.
The self-titled second album by Warpaint is released on 20 January (UK)/21 January (US) and can be pre-ordered from Rough Trade or via iTunes.
