Jonny – Gloria (The Line of Best Fit Session)
The hybrid of Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci’s Euros Childs and Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake was bound to bear some interesting fruit and we doubt there’ll be a better combination of talents in the next twelve months than Jonny.
Blake and Childs’ partnership came to public fruition just yesterday with the release of Jonny’s self-titled debut. A few weeks earlier they met us in the awesome YMC store on Hanbury Street in London’s East End for our latest TLOBF Session.
Expecting a rendition of sublime single ‘Candyfloss‘, we actually got something better: the quirky perfect pop minute-and-a-half of ‘Gloria’, an ode to the Miami Sound Machine diva, taken from last year’s free EP, still available from the Turnstile Records website.
Many thanks must go to the staff at YMC for letting us film inside their wonderful new store. Seriously – the place is worth a visit for the decor alone. And don’t even get us started on the clothes: the TLOBF film crew exited the store post-filming having racked up purchases totalling more than £400 collectively….
