Seeing and hearing Anja Plaschg perform is a tender and emotional experience. Just 18 when she released Soap&Skin’s debut Lovetune for Vacum, she quickly took her place among the new school of the ‘alternative’ modern classical sound.
A second record of sorts dropped earlier this year – the ‘mini’ album Narrow - as well as the news that Plaschg had created her own chocolate – a tie-in that might have seemed out of place until one noticed that pig’s blood and betroot were listed amongst the ingredients.
We took the young Austrian to North London piano dealers Markson Pianos for her Best Fit Session. Among the uprights and grands she turned in a stunning performance of ‘Lost’.
