Multi-instrumentalist Sam Amidon recently re-released his out-of-print debut album But This Chicken Proved Falsehearted, a touching opus of traditional American folk songs and covers.
Watch above as he deconstructs "Louis Collins", a song originally recorded by Mississippi John Hurt, during a secret show at End of the Road Festival.
Sam Amidon is currently touring the U.S.; you can get But This Chicken Proved Falsehearted now via Omnivore Recordings.
End of the Road 2016 takes place 2-4 September at Larmer Tree Gardens, with Joanna Newsom, Animal Collective, Bat For Lashes, Broken Social Scene, Teenage Fanclub, and more set to play.
