Poor Moon brings together Fleet Foxes’ Casey and Christian with Ian and Peter from The Christmas Cards.
The band grew out of Wargo’s songs – shared over many years with his friends – needing a band to bring them to life. The self-titled debut – released back in August on Bella Union – has been one of this year’s more tranquil but impressive records and a set at the End of the Road Festival last month confirmed their talents as a formidable musical unit. A few hours after they left the stage, we dragged them aside for a quick Best Fit Session and something of a mini-show for those who were lucky enough to stumble by, including label mate John Grant.
