Watch Mac DeMarco play 'Cooking Up Something Good' on Brighton Beach
An album reportedly recorded while our protagonist was only wearing his underwear, 2, the second longplayer from Mac DeMarco, was one of late 2012′s most rewarding listens.
Across a lyrically inviting collection of tracks wrapped in guitar scuzz, DeMarco constructs a formidable anti-hero persona – our reviewer called him a ‘winking rogue’ and an encounter with the charismatic Mac certainly supports that description.
We met him a week back during Brighton’s Great Escape festival between two incredible sets (and highpoints of the day for many). Wandering down to the pebble beach as the afternoon sun began to set, he cut two tracks for us, the first of which you can watch above, album standout ‘Cooking Up Something Good’.
