Watch Jenn Grant perform No One's Gonna Love You (Quite Like I Do) in session
To mark the return of Maritime songstress Jenn Grant's return to UK this week, we are unveiling another track from the session she recorded for as at the Great Escape in Brighton last year. 'No One’s Gonna Love You (Quite Like I Do)' appears on Grant’s forthcoming album Compostel, released May 19th in the UK.
Literally translated as Field of Stars, the album's title seems appropriate, as Grant has managed to bring in numerous friends and allies from the Canadian music scene and beyond including Sarah Harmer, Buck 65, Ron Sexsmith, Rose Cousins, Doug Paisley, Don Kerr, Justin Rutledge and Rachel Sermanni amongst others, with production coming from renowned producer Daniel Ledwell, who also happens to be Grant’s husband. The family link continues with an appearance from brother Daniel Grant, who plays charango on the record.
The result is a deeply personal exploration of Grant and Ledwell’s world, sometimes warm, sometimes nostalgic and always heartfelt.
