Futur Primitif performs Hotel Toyko in session for Best Fit
One-time Low Anthem member Daniel Lefkowitz reconvened his musical career last year following a break from music, under the Futur Primitif moniker.
Hooking up with synth and beats man Jared Elmore for the new project, the Asheville, NC resident also snared his old band for backup on debut long player Machineteeth. The record finds a home for Lefkowitz’s ruminating thoughts on nostalgia, modes of living and the clash between the organic and the synthetic. It’s a low-fi gem and a testament to a developed, poetic talent.
The somewhat nomadic, self-confessed “dropout” heads over to the UK for year’s End of the Road Festival but we caught a moment with him back in Spring for a one-take of “Hotel Tokyo”‘; watch above.
Machineteeth is out now via Integrity Records.
