Lorg flies solo for the first time with the release of "Hall Of Your Heart"
Short, delicate, and emotive to its core, "Hall Of Your Heart" finds L Morgan of SALES charting a new course and moving forward with absolute confidence.
In all walks of life, it takes an immense amount of courage to rewrite our own destinies, subvert expectations, and ultimately create what brings us the most amount of joy. For Lorg, the moniker of L Morgan, formerly of the beloved indie group SALES, that joy has come in the form of a string of wonderful solo releases since 2024, including last month's “Marathonia” and 2025’s “Crossroads”.
Today, in conjecture with the announcement of their debut solo album I Fell For Fantasy arriving August 19th, we have the release of “Hall Of Your Heart” – a shimmering electronic-tinged single that opens a portal into the headspace of Lorg as they meditate on the bravery it takes to recognize when it is time to leave and take their love elsewhere. “This is a breakup album, it wrecked me and ‘Hall Of Your Heart’ was the thesis of why it didn’t work out. When you are dealing with someone who doesn’t have space in their heart to love you properly, but there is still that connection.”
Despite a deep focus on heartbreak, Lorg is decidedly forward thinking, and refuses to wallow in the past. Moving forward with all their strength they sing, "And it’s nice to see you now, saying hello”, against a glistening electronic backdrop that gives the track a feeling of supreme calm. “I really got into my production on this track,” Lorg says. “I really love how the guitar on this track resembles a synth. It’s overdriven and it skips around. I got there by playing with sounds until I didn’t know where I was anymore. A vast majority of this track and the album itself are me sitting around with a guitar, curious how I can contort the sound, getting closer to the feelings I’m experiencing.”
“Hall Of Your Heart” owes its memorability to a plethora of textural flourishes forming a cohesive, emotional product that required Lorg to confront the healing process with conviction. “If I don’t finish the songs, am I actually moving through this? As soon as I decided it was done, I had time to keep working on myself and these new emotions,” they reflect.
With the next stage of their chapter waiting to be written, "Hall Of Your Heart" is as good an indication as any that Lorg is full of resilience and fortitude, turning their own experiences into mesmerizing compositions of emotive indie-pop.
