Pop king Kai Bosch feels the rush of human connection in “Summer of Love”
What started as a creative outlet eventually became a vibrant new career path. Now, with breezy hits like this one, Kai Bosch is building on a new mission to become “the biggest gay popstar in the universe.”
With distorted guitars and layered synths, Kai Bosch’s new track “Summer of Love” dives into the intense feelings that surround a whirlwind summer romance. Soaring melodies and modulated harmonies give the song a heightened sense of euphoria, as sophisticated electronica fuse with contemporary pop themes (think Daft Punk meets Troye Sivan).
Shimmering with electronic textures, the song encapsulates the very essence of summer and the effortlessness of falling in love. It’s a celebratory track that not only reflects a feeling, but pulls you into a whole new mindset. With “Summer of Love” the world feels at its most vibrant, but looks a little hazy too through the clouded lens of love.
“I wrote ‘Summer Of Love’ during last year’s heatwave. It was the beginning of a new relationship for me and suddenly everything felt like it had so much meaning and purpose,” Bosch explains. “We spent the summer swimming in the lake district, cat-sitting in Amsterdam, drinking bottles of wine on my roof - it truly felt like I was back in my body and I wanted to make a song that would encapsulate that summer forever."
“Summer of Love” has already caught the attention of names like legend Sir Elton John, who premiered it on his Rocket Hour Radio show. It also follows up the UK-based Bosch’s critically-acclaimed debut EP Popstar Of Your Dreams. It’s difficult to imagine Bosch was ever the shy teenager who secretly penned songs in his room. From those self-conscious sessions to today's summer anthems, he’s certainly come a long way.
