ATP vs Explosions In The Sky, Photo Special [Day 3]
Sunday. The final day of perhaps the greatest festival I’ve ever been to, and what a day to round things off. Without doubt the strongest line-up of the weekend (for me anyway). Kicking things off with a beautiful set was Jens Lekman, followed by a more muscular Beach House with added drums and bass on a few numbers. Victoria Legrands vocals really are something special, she’s turning into such a powerhouse. Silver Jews were staggeringly good, and I’d hazzard a guess that the entire audience at the Pavillion stage would agree. De La Soul injected a sense of fun into the day. A great set that featured a ton of audience interaction. You never really know what line-up Broken Social Scene are going to bring over with them. We were treated to Amy Milan and Evan Cranley from Stars. Plus the regular offenders Charles Spearin and Justin Peroff. Sam Goldberg too, who is proving to be a great asset to the live BSS line-up. Battles were, in a word, phenomenal. Even after the ridicuous queuing debarcle before their set, they didn’t fail to dissapoint.
Until next year then…
