Amber Mark is practically perfect, live in London.
Live at Oslo, Amber Mark gracefully invited the crowd along on a journey through her international influences at Hackney's Oslo.
Transcendent as she moved across the stage, Mark was everything we expected and more, with energy to spare and a glowing personality. The 24 year-old New Yorker treated the crowd to a sold-out performance, beautifully ornamented by her flawless vocals.
Sauntering across the stage, Mark glittered as she opened the show with the title track from this year's stunning EP, Conexāo. At times, the vocals sounded so pure that they had me questioning if she was lip-synching; to my delight, she definitely wasn't.
A performance of Wilma Archer's 'Like a Hunger' - one of Mark's best collabs on her rise to fame - was a perfect showcase for the worldly influences that she draws on so often in her music, and easily persuaded an already happy audience to get dancing.
Amber Mark's almost mystical performance matched up perfectly to the studio versions that fans have come to love. And for me, it was what exactly what I always hope a live show will be - better.
