Duckwrth’s major label debut trims off some of the sharper edges to create a full-length that’s filled to the brim with sensual, and positivity-laden jams, of varying ferocity, that know how to ride a beat like the best of ‘em.

This move could be seen as growth away from the fire that raged previously, but as the album progresses Duckwrth’s motives become clear; life can be a vibe, no matter how much the world is falling apart.

That’s the beauty of SuperGood, it knows the world is in disarray, and there are social and literal wars being fought, but on a granular level life carries on and it’s okay to feel positive; for the sake of all of us.

It’s about seizing the moment, be it in a tight space in a parking lot, or just wanting to bring something to the world that isn’t marred by turmoil. Hurried beats, flittering guitars, rhythmic rapping that flows into a soaring melody, Duckwrth has packaged it all into an album born to make you dance. From the shimmering call of “Did U Notice?”, to the R&B soaked bounce of “Money Dance”, SuperGood rarely lets up, even the small interlude tracks offer a reverie that keeps the night swinging seamlessly. “Too Bad” leans back in the drivers seat, head nodding to its righteous hip-hop beat.

Echoing big hitting legendary jams from James Brown to N.E.R.D (particularly on “Too Bad”) every track feels familiar without repeating the past, stoking enough of the that memory-fire to pique you, but then swerving into Duckwrth’s road and showing you how things really be.

Undoubtedly, Duckwrth knows how to pen a beat, and to keep the party going, especially when the lights seem determined to come on. It can’t be recommended enough to shut the world out and to let SuperGood carry you away on its positivity, love-lorn and big-dream current.
