The seminal Gainesville rockers played their only European tour date this year, supported by the one and only Stevie Nicks, all in the sunny surrounds of Hyde Park.
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers delivered up the hits – “Rockin Around with You”, “Mary Jane’s Last Dance”, “Free Fallin’”, “Learning to Fly”, “Refugee”, “American Girl” – and were, perhaps unsurprisingly, joined on stage by Stevie Nicks for a rendition of “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”.
Nicks focused on the Fleetwood Mac back catalogue, including “Dreams”, “Gypsy”, “Rhiannon”, “Landslide” and even “Gold Dust Woman” – a track that left her visibly emotional and one that she told the audience had never been performed live before this tour.
