Yusuf / Cat Stevens to chronicle his six-decade career with On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits
Cat-O-Log Records have announced On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits, the definitive and first ever career-spanning collection of Yusuf / Cat Stevens.
“I’m pleased that, at last, a collection of recordings includes some important songs I wrote after my evolvement, “Take The World Apart” and “Heaven / Where True Love Goes” for instance, reflecting the peace and happiness which has since changed my life. Thank you one and all. It’s really humbling to think about how many souls have been traversing this journey with me.”
The release includes songs such as “The Wind”, “Peace Train”, “Where Do The Children Play?” and “Wild World”, with track from his debut 1967 LP, Matthew & Son, through to his last album, King Of A Land which was released in 2023.
The news comes ahead of Yusuf’s much-anticipated appearance at BST Hyde Park, London tomorrow (11 July) as special guest to Neil Young. On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits will be released ahead of Yusuf’s long-awaited memoir Cat On The Road To Findout.
The memoir is expected to cover the full arc of Stevens’ career, ranging from his folk beginnings, early success as a musician in the 1960s and 70s, to his decision to step away from the spotlight after converting to Islam in the late 70s. It also reflects on his return to music decades later and his ongoing work in education and humanitarian projects.
On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits will be released on 5 September, and is available to pre-order now.
