Yukimi returns with release of new EP, Yume
Yukimi, the vocalist and co-founder of Grammy-nominated band Little Dragon, has returned with the release of her new EP, Yume.
"This EP wants to inspire people to dream," Yukimi comments on the follow-up to her recently released debut solo album, For You.
Yume explores what dreams can teach us in the stresses of modern-day life. Across its four tracks, we hear “Career Climbing” - a song that encourages following your own path without blindly taking on the expectations of our culture and the pressures of modern living - and “All Over Me", about the longing for romance without holding back. “Indulging in our passionate dreams,” Yukimi comments.
Elsewhere, we hear the recently released single “Get It Over", co-written by Canadian musician Saya Grey. “Get It Over is about being lost in your own inner world, unable to find a way out into the real world… it’s about feeling too lost to reply or take on responsibilities”, Yukimi adds.
Yukimi recently featured on Little Simz’s album ‘Lotus’, on track “Enough” and performed at the 30th edition of Meltdown, curated by Little Simz and hosted at London’s iconic Southbank Centre.
Yume is out now via Ninja Tune.
