You can now own a piece of Jarvis Cocker’s suit and raise money for charity
Originally put up for auction by Pop Up Crisis last Christmas, Jarvis Cocker's 2015 Marc Jacobs' suit has now been cut up into credit card-sized pieces, which you can buy for £5.
A Pulp fan club member purchased the £250 suit from Crisis and decided to raise even more money by cutting it up and selling individual scraps. Anyone in the UK can reserve a piece by sending a DM to pulp_acrylicafternoons on Instagram or by emailing admin@acrylicafternoons.com. Each piece comes in a numbered and hand-stamped envelope.
The idea was inspired by a similar move made by Pulp’s guitarist Mark Webber back in 1993. Webber cut-up one of Jarvis’ old suits for Pulp’s fan club members. "I cherish that charcoal-coloured scrap of fabric and I hope that some of you will cherish these pink bits of fabric too," the IG post read.
Pieces of the suit, a SS 2015 Marc Jacobs, will be sold on a first-come/first-served basis in ascending order beginning with piece #1. There is a limit of two pieces per person. The first batch will be posted out on Monday 18 May.
The money will be sent back to Crisis, the UK national charity for people experiencing homelessness, which offers year-round education, employment, housing and well-being services.
