YOASOBI's Ayase confirms plans for debut EP, dialogue
Ayase, known as one half of J-pop duo YOASOBI, has announced his debut EP, dialogue, and shared lead single, "Urusa".
dialogue will be Ayase's first solo endeavour after seven years composing tracks as a member of YOASOBI, alongside vocalist ikura, and follows the announcement of the pair's new album, THE BOOK for.
"Urusa" arrives as the first preview of dialogue, showcasing a new chapter for Ayase as he explores his own interest in singing.
dialogue explores the concept of dialogue across five tracks that were entirely written, composed, and produced by Ayase, examining conversations and connections that he maintains with himself, people around him, and society as a whole.
Speaking about the EP, he shares: “Over the past seven years or so of running at full speed as the composer for YOASOBI, I couldn't completely shake off my desire to sing. I was able to express that feeling through this body of work.
“From the time YOASOBI was formed…I believe I have continued to face music, people, society, my partner and myself with utmost sincerity, in my own way. I feel that I have successfully encapsulated my current thoughts, struggles and wishes born from that journey into these five tracks.”
