YHWH Nailgun's new 11-minute album Magazine revealed for 11 June release
Following their signing to 4AD, New York noise-rock four-piece YHWH Nailgun have announced Magazine, their second album, due 11 June – and running to 10 tracks across just 11 minutes.
The record was previewed last month at C2C Festival NYC, where the band performed the album in its entirety before walking offstage — a set that split the room between bewilderment and elation.
Formed in 2020 around vocalist Zack Borzone and drummer Sam Pickard, YHWH Nailgun have since expanded to a four-piece with guitarist and producer Saguiv Rosenstock and synth player Jack Tobias.
Magazine follows the band's 2025 debut 45 Pounds, which established the group as one of the more uncompromising propositions in New York's underground. The record reportedly strips back the band's sound back to something leaner and more exposed with producer Saguiv Rosenstock giving more space to vocalist Zack Borzone. The album opens with the slow fade-in of "Ghost of Love" and closes with "To the Devil", with tracks including "Hips on a Wheel", "Ballerina" and "Give Blood" sitting in between. The latter three were performed live on The Adam Friedland Show last Friday.
The band approached the record through improvisation and what they describe as "quick bursts" of inspiration. They'll tour the UK and Ireland this summer, with dates including End of the Road Festival in Dorset and appearances in London, Bristol, Nottingham, Newcastle and Cardiff. The run begins on 29 August.
