Yasiin Bey, Greentea Peng and more feature on Nightmares on Wax's mixtape, Echo45 Sound System
George Evelyn – better known as Nightmares On Wax – has announced the release of a forthcoming mixtape, Echo45 Sound System, and shares new track, "Bang Bien" featuring Yasiin Bey (Mos Def).
Rooted in the sound system culture of Leeds, George Evelyn’s journey began when, courtesy of his Mum, he spent £5 on a battered old speaker box he dubbed “Echo45” which changed the course of his life.
With Echo45 Sound System, Nightmares On Wax takes that lineage a step further. It's breathing sound system experience that merges soul, roots, hip-hop, dub, and electronic textures with fearless spirit, featuring a carefully curated ensemble of collaborators including Yasiin Bey, Greentea Peng, Sadie Walker, Liam Bailey, and more.
The news of this release follows the announcement of a one night only show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on 12 March 2026 where Nightmares On Wax will celebrate two landmark anniversaries.
This special performance dubbed In A Space Outta Delight will see the legendary producer reimagine his groundbreaking, iconic and era-defining albums In A Space Outta Sound (20th anniversary) and Smokers Delight (30th anniversary) in a unique, unmissable show with an extra full live band, string quartet, choir, guest vocalists, and surprise collaborators.
