Yamila unveils new single, "Lo Animal"
Spanish cellist, singer, and producer Yamila has released a new single, "Lo Animal", the final preview of her upcoming album Noor.
"Lo Animal" follows previous singles "Prado" and "Sin Desarraigo". Speaking on the meaning behind the new single, Yamila says: "It talks about nature taking over and making us disappear, about the power nature has to destroy everything, and how fragile we are in comparison."
Noor, which translates to "light" in Arabic, marks Yamila's second album, following her 2022 debut Visions. It was written while Yamila was trying to conceive her daughter and is described as "a quiet devotion to care, fragility, and renewal." “There’s so much desire to cradle and mother the world,” Yamila explains. “It’s an album that speaks about care - the importance of caring, and how little we value those who care for others.”
