Y U QT sign to Ninja Tune and share new single, “Call My Name”

British electronic duo Y U QT have announced their signing to Ninja Tune and shared their new single, “Call My Name”, released on the label’s Technicolour imprint.

Y U QT, formed by lifelong friends Darryl Reid and James Cooper, join the likes of salute, Sofia Kourtesis, and Weval as the latest signees to the Technicolour roster. After months of being played during live DJ sets, “Call My Name” arrives as the pair’s first release on the label, following their most recent single “Does Anybody Know” which dropped in December, and features vocals from London singer-songwriter Jem Cooke.

Speaking about the single, Y U QT share: “We’re genuinely proud of this one - it feels like a step forward for us and a perfect representation of where we’re at musically right now. Sonically it sits somewhere between speed garage and techno.

The vocal from Jem Cooke brings this euphoric but slightly vulnerable energy that really lifts the track.
This will be our first release with Technicolour so we’re so excited to see where it goes especially after the response from fans and dj’s already.”
