Whitney return with first track in two years, "Darling"
Chicago duo Whitney have returned after a two year hiatus with the release of new single, "Darling".
"There’s something to be said for a 2 minute-or-less gem that aims for the heart,” said the band. “Songs like ‘Gonna Hurry’ by Dolly Parton and ‘Take Care’ by Big Star come to mind—poignantly written goodbyes emphasised by the fact that both songs are over as quick as they started. In the case of ‘Darling’ the song transitions into a second act that serves to accept a goodbye instead of leaving it up in the air, but we think the song ultimately feels like it's over too soon in the best way possible."
"Darling" marks their first new music since the release of their 2022 album, Spark.
