White Flowers unveil new song, "Heart Breaks"
White Flowers have released "Heart Breaks", the latest single from their upcoming album, Dreams For Somebody Else, due in May.
The Preston "sad euphoria" duo have previously teased the upcoming album with earlier singles "Thinking of You" and "Heaven". "Heart Breaks" is formed of two halves written at different points across several years, before fully coming together last summer.
The track is inspired by a quote from Anne De Marcken’s 2024 novel, It Lasts Forever and Then It’s Over: "I run through the night. I am alone now except for the crow and hunger. Unfed, the swarm shapes and reshapes inside of me. The world is big and empty, but inside of me is even bigger, even emptier. Hunger makes me vast and bottomless. I run and I run and I run. I eat the road. I devour it.”
White Flowers are also set to play a series of in-store shows around the album's release, which will include appearances at Rough Trade Nottingham (29 April), Action Records in Preston (1 May), Rough Trade Liverpool (2 May), Jumbo Records in Leeds (4 May), Banquet Records in Kingston (6 May), and Rough Trade Bristol (7 May).
