Westside Cowboy bring Britainicana to Larmer Tree Gardens with their End Of The Road festival debut
Westside Cowboy fought again the rain to as part of End of the Road Festival’s opening day.
Playing during a lull in the bad weather, the Manchester quarter played through songs from their debut EP This Better Be Something Great, which was released via Nice Swan Recordings / Heist Or Hit earlier this summer – including "Shells", "I’ve Never Met Anyone Else I Could Really Love" and "Drunk Surfer", as well as unreleased track "Rot", which guitarist and vocalist Reuben Haycocks explained “is for that person”.
Their appearance comes after a run of UK festival set throughout the year, as the buzz around the band won them spots at Great Escape, Glastonbury, and Green Man. Acknowledging the large turnout at the Woods stage for their afternoon set, Haycocks announced: “This is such an awesome festival. We are very, very happy to be playing here. We’re not used to this many people, to be honest!”
End of the Road continues this evening with headline sets from Caribou, Joy Orbison and Matt Berninger.
Earlybird tickets for the festival’s 20th anniversary edition in 2026 will be onsale from Tuesday 2 September via endoftheroadfestival.com
