Weakened Friends announce Live From Hell for independent record shops only
Weakened Friends have announced a double live album, Live From Hell, recorded at The Sinclair in Boston, Massachusetts. It arrives on 25 September as a limited pressing sold exclusively through independent record shops.
The New England indie rock band are pressing the live set as a double LP for independent record shops across the US, bypassing their own webstore and live shows. In a statement, guitarist and vocalist Sonia Sturino said: "We're living in a world where 'content' is prioritised over art, where AI is rotting brains and boiling oceans. We're so sick of it, so this release needed to be as far removed from that narrative as possible."
Sturino added: "We wanted to create something special and tangible for fans while also supporting the independent record stores that have supported artists like us for decades."
The band have also shared a live video for "Lightspeed", shot by Justin Labaddie and Katya Veber and edited by Bob Sweeney.
In September, Weakened Friends will join The Menzingers and Hot Water Music for a US tour. It opens in San Antonio, Texas on 25 September and runs through to Brooklyn, New York on 22 November, with stops including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston. No UK dates are included in the run.
Live From Hell is released on 25 September via Don Giovanni Records
