waterbaby announces her debut album, Memory Be a Blade

Memory Be a Blade is waterbaby's second release on Sub Pop, and the follow-up to her 2023 EP Foam, with the new record described as "darker, richer, and more personal than ever". The title track, released today, arrives after previous singles "Amiss" and "Beck n Call", which were both released last year.

Recorded alongside producer Marcus White across Stockholm, south of Sweden, and Los Angeles, Memory Be a Blade is built upon waterbaby's reflections on a past break-up, and the unexpected end of a newer relationship. Speaking about her experience, waterbaby explains: “Many of the songs came to mean very different things than what I had thought when writing them in the first place."

Following the release, waterbaby will be touring the UK and Europe, with shows throughout Sweden, followed by dates in London, Paris, Rotterdam, and Berlin.
