The Elephant & Castle venue opened in 2002 and saw its final performance last month, from experimental Finnish ensemble Pharaoh Overlord.

Consisting of two rooms situated within railway arches in South London, the venue was beloved for its high-quality sound system and for hosting experimental trailblazers such as Sunn O))), Björk, and Four Tet. It was also an early home of Boiler Room.

The venue was opened by Amanda Moss and Adrian Jones, who initially named it Corsica Arts Club in homage to a venue they'd been running in Highbury, on Corsica Street.

Other acts that played the venue during its final year of operation include Death Crash, Divide & Dissolve, Fred Again, Disgusting Sisters, and The Itch. Watch the final performance at the venue below, from Finland's kraut-drone-stoner collective Pharaoh Overlord.
