Watch Gossip and Alison Moyet perform a cover of "Situation" by Yazoo
On Friday (8 March), during BBC Radio 6 Music Festival at Victoria Warehouse Manchester, Gossip were joined on stage by Alison Moyet.
During Gossip’s first UK show in four years, the band played a career-spanning set including hits such as "Move In The Right Direction", "Crazy Again", "Heavy Cross", "Standing In The Way of Control", and their most recent single, "Real Power".
As well as a cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit", they were joined on stage by Alison Moyet, to perform a cover of Yazoo's "Situation". Speaking to 6 Music’s Matt Everitt about about the performance, Beth Ditto said: “I just need a second to think about what just happened. I got to be on the same stage as Alison Moyet... I have to wrap my mind around it. We practised for so long. She came and rehearsed today and I was trying not to cry. I knew – I was like ‘I’m going to see her and I’m going to cry’ […] so I was trying to play it cool and I’m not good at playing it cool."
