Watch Geese play "Trinidad" and "Au Pays Du Cocaine" on SNL

25 January 2026, 10:32 | Written by Best Fit

Geese made their Saturday Night Live debut last in an episode hosted by Teyana Taylor - and with a divisive reaction online.

Playing two tracks from last year's Getting Killed, the Partisan-signed four piece turned in a spectacular peformance (triumphing over the famously unflattering sound of studio 8H at 30 Rock) but it wasn't to everyone's taste

Reactions to "Trinidad", posted on X included, "Worst performance in the History of SNL …. WOW…. So Bad", "The worst use of a SG in the history of guitars", "Nails on a chalkboard", and "There’s a what in my what?". "The band Geese on SNL might be the worst band, and shittiest musicians I've ever heard. This is so horrible", said one user.

In the the other corner, one post attempted to put their finger on exacltly what the issue might be:

Geese's booking recalled the glory days of SNL musical guests; back in 1986, The Replacements were famously banned from every playing again by showrunner Lorne Michaels for a performance we're pretty sure would get the same reaction as Geese if shitposting had been a thing back then. They must be doing something right huh?

Geese head back to the UK this March for a series of headline shows and play at Reading and Leeds festivals in August.
