Truthpaste detail debut EP, I Don't Know Either
Manchester-born indie outfit Truthpaste have announced their debut EP, I Don't Know Either, and shared new single, "Friendship Is The Truth".
Formed in 2022 by lead vocalist and saxophonist Esmé Lark, guitarist Theo Murchie, violinist Claire Sun, bassist and guitarist Euan McNeill, and synth player and guitarist James Ballarò, Truthpaste have developed a sound which blends pop, acoustic folk, and electronic music, and have since found themselves circling London's live music scene. Today, they share the news of their debut EP, and new track "Friendship Is The Truth", which follows previous single, "Bus Song".
Speaking about the new single, Lark explains: "Euan and Claire played it to us once, then we got distracted for a couple years, but I would find myself singing it and trying to figure out what it was. I was very happy to finally piece it together last summer. It felt like the right time for it to form as we have all become very good friends over the last couple of years and it is indeed the friendship song."
I Don't Know Either will see the band showing their sense of collaboration with shared songwriting and instrumental duties. Following the release of the album, Truthpaste are set to embark on a UK headline tour, kicking off on 4 May at The Lexington in London with further dates scheduled in Leeds, Leicester, and Bristol, as well as appearances at Brighton's The Great Escape Festival.
