Tough Cookie announce debut mixtape, The Countryside Is Good For You
London-based alt band Tough Cookie have announced their forthcoming debut mixtape, The Countryside Is Good For You, alongside the release of its title track.
The eight songs on this mixtape, forged in their East London basement, span a period of five tumultuous years where evolution was the only constant. Marking a new chapter freed from the shackles of industry expectation and bolstered by a renewed sense of purpose, they say, “The Countryside Is Good For You is an honest account of navigating moments of vulnerability, disconnection, and escapism; a journey of self discovery amid chaos, we start as we mean to go on, from a place of sincerity”.
Speaking about today’s release of the titular single, frontperson August shares, “The Countryside Is Good For You is about the tension between the desire to escape and the feeling of being stuck. It is a self-reflection on my disconnect from society, fading self-image, and the loss of innocence.”
