Tooth announce debut EP, Restless in Bloom
London quartet Tooth have revealed the details of their upcoming debut EP, Restless in Bloom, and shared the title track "Restless in Bloom".
Formed by vocalist and guitarist Tom Pollock, bassist Charlie Arnison, and drummer Roy Lowe, Tooth have developed their second-wave emo and garage rock-inspired sound over the past few years. They've previously teased the EP with singles "The Age of Innocence" and "Medicine", with "Restless in Bloom" arriving as the third preview.
Speaking about the single, Pollock explains: “The name ‘Restless in Bloom’ came from a poetry zine put together by Ben’s girlfriend. She explained the meaning behind the name, saying how our youth was growing into something else, blossoming into something beyond what we knew.
"We would fill our time fidgeting with the freedom around us, restless in apprehension of whatever’s coming once youth fades. The lyrics reflect this idea, using the backdrop of two people sleeping together, both quickly growing out of each other and realising their existence has more potential beyond the confines of adolescence.”
Restless in Bloom was recorded at Church Studios in Crouch End by producer Kev Jones (Wunderhorse), mixed by Vince Ratti (Turnover, Scowl) and mastered by Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight). Ahead of the EP release, Tooth are set to head off on a headline UK tour before making festival appearances later in the year, including slots at Wilderness, Reading & Leeds, and more.
