
Tom Waits shares unreleased version of “Get Behind the Mule”

To mark the 25th anniversary of the label ANTI- which was formed to release the thirteenth studio album by Tom Waits, they have shared the new track "Get Behind the Mule (Spiritual)".
The track originally appeared on his Grammy Award-winning studio album Mule Variations, “Get Behind the Mule (Spiritual)” comes as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations.
Speaking of the release, he said: “Definitely part of the original idea was to do something somewhere between surreal and rural. We call it surrural. That’s what these songs are: surrural. There’s an element of something old about them, and yet it’s kind of disorienting…”
“Get Behind the Mule (Spiritual)” is out now.
