Tindersticks reveal plans for fifteenth album, Dog Roses

Tindersticks have announced their upcoming album, Dog Roses, and shared opening track “Loving, Leaving” alongside details of an extensive 2027 tour.

Dog Roses follows the band’s 2024 album Soft Tissue, with the announcement arriving alongside lead single, "Loving, Leaving".

Produced and recorded by vocalist Stuart Staples, the album was written and recorded between December 2025 and August 2026. It features the band's core line-up of Earl Harvin on drums, Dan McKinna on bass, David Boulter on keys and Neil Fraser on guitar, joined by special guests Dave Okumu on electric guitar, Julian Siegel on saxophone, and longtime collaborator Lucy Wilkins leading strings on two songs.

The band explain that Dog Roses was born from a desire to make a leap forward after the success of their previous record. "With our last album, 2024's Soft Tissue, we felt like we were looking over the fence into a new landscape, maybe even leaning over," Staples says. "Making 15 albums we have learned that sometimes there are steps forward, sometimes there are leaps. Soft Tissue was a great step, but it was time to try and leap over that fence."

The album was also recorded in a new environment, as the band traded in their studio of twenty years for an underground, hidden space. Staples describes this shift as "A jolt. A place where old methods didn't seem to work and new solutions had to be found.”

"Most things I have learned, that I thought I knew about making albums proved to be of little use when making Dog Roses,” he continues. “I have always had a strong sense of time and place in my writing – but sometimes while making this album it felt like trying to catch only a fragrance or the feeling of the knot in my stomach, or catching a glance of myself in a mirror – the 1000 questions, thoughts, emotions you can feel in one moment."

Tindersticks have also detailed tour dates for next year to coincide with the release, which will include multiple nights in Vienna, stops across Europe, and UK dates in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Belfast and Dublin in May, followed by a run of shows in Spain and Portugal in November and December.
