This Is The Kit unveil new song, "Safety Valve"
This Is The Kit have shared "Safety Valve", the latest preview of their upcoming album, Ghost Coat.
"Safety Valve" follows previous single "Skim a Stone". The track is the album's opener, and features vocals from singer-songwriter Richard Dawson. It also arrives alongside live performance video filmed at Bedford Esquires, directed by Lemon Thief (Narna Hue & Tom Jacob).
Speaking about the track, vocalist Kate Stables explains: "This is a song dedicated to friends who come to your rescue. a helping hand. someone who listens and doesn’t judge. And getting out on your bike and feeling better."
"Speaking of kind non-judgemental people, I had been dreaming of asking Richard Dawson to sing on the new record and somehow managed to pluck up the courage to ask him to sing on this track," Stables adds. "He graciously accepted the challenge and it immediately turned it into one of my favourite songs on the album. Absolute legend. Finest pipes in the business."
Ghost Coat is released on 15 January 2027 via Memphis Industries
