Third Man Records announce their first Australian signing, The Belair Lip Bombs
Third Man Records have announced the signing of Australian four-piece The Belair Lip Bombs and the reissue of their 2023 album, Lush Life.
The band collectively had the following to say about the signing: “Signing with Third Man has been a dream for us, particularly as the first Australian band on the label. Everyone at the label is a legend and it’s obvious how much love they put into each of their releases. We couldn’t be more stoked to be joining the Third man fam!"
Maisie Everett had the following to say about the record: “The album is titled Lush Life - these words are referenced a few times throughout the album. Themes or motifs explored in the album often involve a longing for something that isn’t there, but maybe not quite knowing exactly what that something is. The term, Lush Life, sort of describes a picture perfect world where everything is easy (but doesn’t actually exist).
I wanted it to be perfect, and we tried a lot of different things in the studio, in terms of melodies and harmonies. It was a lot of fun. I was playing in another band at the time and constantly on tour which made it hard to finish the album in a linear way. But I’m glad we took our time with it, because it’s turned out exactly how we wanted it."
The album is available digitally everywhere now, and will land physically on standard black LP and a limited edition opaque pink LP on 18 October. Pre-orders are available now.
