"They’re done with me – but we’re not talking about it": Steven Drozd exits The Flaming Lips
The Flaming Lips songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Steven Drozd has confirmed that he is no longer part of the band.
In a Threads conversation between Steven Drozd and a user, Drozd verified his long-speculated exit. Fans began to take notice of his absence during the band's recent performances, but with no official statement offered by The Flaming Lips, it was largely assumed that he'd stopped touring with the band while still retaining status as an active member.
Although the Threads post has since been deleted, a Reddit user captured a screenshot of the conversation. In it, Drozd is asked, "Are you officially done with the FLips?" To which he responds, "They're done with me - but we're not talking about it. So yes I'm moving on. Just keep it to yourself for now. Ok?"
In a separate reply, another user asks, "You've been Ivined?", referencing the 2021 departure of Flaming Lips founding member Michael Ivins, with Drozd simply replying, "Gotta keep movin".
