The Pretty Reckless release alternate version of "About You" featuring Foo Fighters members
New York rock band The Pretty Reckless have released a "bonus" version of their song "About You", featuring Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl on drums, guitar, and vocals, and Pat Smear on guitar.
The track originally appeared on the band’s fifth studio album, DEAR GOD, released this June, but wasn't a single. Lead vocalist Taylor Momsen said she called the Foos pair “and asked them if they’d lend their magic to it”, adding that “there’s nothing better than jamming with friends”.
DEAR GOD was produced by Momsen, Ben Phillips, and Jonathan Wyman. “When I Wake Up”, its lead single, became the band’s ninth No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, the most by any female-led act in the chart’s history.
The Pretty Reckless recently completed the North American leg of their headlining tour as well as a run with AC/DC on the Power Up Tour. Next month they head out on the European leg of their tour behind DEAR GOD, including UK dates at The Prospect Building in Bristol on 26 November, Civic Hall in Wolverhampton on 27 November, O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on 29 November, O2 Academy Brixton in London on 1 December, and Barrowland in Glasgow on 3 December.
