The National unveil new track "New Order T-Shirt"
The National have released a second song from their ninth album First Two Pages of Frankenstein titled "New Order T-Shirt".
After announcing their ninth album with the lead single "Tropic Morning News" last month, The National have released a second preview of their upcoming full-length titled "New Order T-Shirt".
Aaron Dessner says of the song, "To me the line 'I keep what I can of you' means something about everyone I’ve ever known or loved. There’s a simplicity to "New Order T-Shirt" that reminds me of our earlier records, but with the full maturity and experience we have now. It feels like a really important song for the future of our band."
Not only have The National named a song after New Order, but they've collaborated with the band on a limited edition New Order t-shirt that pays homage to their album designs. The t-shirt is available to pre-order now, and a portion of the proceeds will go to a charity of their choice.
First Two Pages of Frankenstein was produced by The National at Long Pond Studios in upstate New York, and features guest appearances from Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers and Sufjan Stevens.
"New Order T-Shirt" is out now. The National's First Two Pages of Frankenstein album will be released 28 April via 4AD, and is available to pre-order now. They'll play London's Alexandra Palace on 26 and 27 September. Tickets are on sale now via americanmary.com.
