The Mysterines' Callum Thompson signs to Fiction Records under new project, AKA
Liverpool-based musician, producer and The Mysterines guitarist Callum Thompson has announced the launch of his new project, AKA, with his signing to Fiction Records, and the release of his debut single, “It Grows On Trees (Money)".
AKA marks a new creative direction for Thompson, who blends inspired songwriting with sample-based sounds, with "It Goes On Trees (Money)" being the first preview of this new approach. The grunge-punk-inspired track was written and produced by Thompson, and is accompanied by a video directed by Charles Gall (English Teacher, Sports Team).
Discussing the track, Thompson explains: “It’s about finding yourself when you stop looking. It looks at how identity evolves in the modern media age - and the sense that certainty only exists in doubt.”
